VCA Chromebook Login Tutorial

Watch this short video to learn how to log in to your VCA-issued Chromebook.

Pupil Login on GHO (Canvas)

  1. MUST Use Google Chrome.
  2. Go to the Canvas login page and enter:
    • Student name
    • Username
    • Temporary password

Common Login Issues

If a student is unable to log in to Canvas, most issues can be resolved by working through the steps below.

  • Use Google Chrome
  • Restart the device
  • Carefully re-enter the username and temporary password

When prompted, press 3 for the national program, then press 1. If no one answers, please leave a detailed voicemail.
If you have not received a response within 1 hour, please contact your VCA Virtual Administrator at 📞 480-330-6736.

Resetting Canvas Password

If a student is unable to log in to Great Hearts Online (Canvas) due to a password issue, please follow the steps below.

  1. Visit the Great Hearts Online password reset instructions:
    Google Workspace: Cannot Sign In to Account (Forgot Password)
  2. Follow the step-by-step instructions on that page to reset the password.
  3. If the password reset does not work or the student is still unable to access Canvas, please contact Great Hearts Online National Tech Support at:

Starting with the password reset instructions above resolves most login issues quickly and helps students return to their coursework without delay.

Parent Observer Access

Parents MUST monitor their child’s progress in Canvas using a dedicated Observer account. This provides read-only access to assignments, announcements, due dates, and grades without affecting student work.

  • Look for an invite email from notifications@instructure.com
  • If you did not receive an invite, contact Great Hearts Online support
  • Observer access is view-only and cannot submit assignments
