For scholars who want to go deeper, three layers add up to a fuller school year — the daily Christ-centered rhythm, the broader Great Hearts learning community, and our in-person events on the Milwaukee campus.
Some of the enrichment your scholar will encounter is built into every school year — chapel, devotions, the Faith Coach. Some lives in the broader Great Hearts learning community our classical scholars belong to. And some happens on the Milwaukee campus — sports, performances, graduations, and the rhythm of an in-person school you’re welcome to travel in for.
Specific clubs, competitions, and offerings inside each layer shift with the year. Your Academic Coach helps your family explore whatever’s currently running and connects you to anything that fits.
From most-reliable to most-flexible. Each layer adds a different kind of enrichment to your scholar’s school year.
Daily devotions at 7:35 am, Wednesday online chapel, Friday prayer and character enrichment, Faith Coach mentoring. The rhythm that anchors every VCA Virtual scholar’s school year — see the Chapel page for the full pattern.
Scholars in our classical pathway are part of the broader Great Hearts Online learning community, with virtual clubs (space permitting), virtual field trips, and community events coordinated through a Community Engagement Coordinator. Your Academic Coach connects families to whatever’s currently meeting.
The VCA Milwaukee campus runs a full school-year calendar of family events — Christmas Program, Spirit Week, Bible Quizzing (4 competitions), Book Fair, K5 / 8th / 12th Graduations. Virtual scholars who can travel are welcome at any of them — no second application, no separate fee.
Athletics, competition prep (NLE, AMC, spelling, science fair), and sustained independent study are arranged with your family. Local-league sports, homeschool athletic associations, and Coach-supervised independent projects all live in this layer.
Victory Christian Academy is a real K–12 school on a 10-acre Milwaukee campus — gym, track, soccer field, and a 330-seat Performing Arts Center opened in August 2024. If your family can travel, you are welcome.
Soccer (boys MS & HS, varsity girls), basketball (boys MS & varsity), cheerleading, flag football (MS), track (coed), wrestling (coed). Virtual scholars who can attend practices and games are welcome to try out. Details: vcaschool.org/athletics.
Christmas Program (Dec 12, 2025), Spirit Week (Feb 9–13, 2026), Book Fair (Mar 16–20, 2026), K5 / 8th / 12th Graduations (Jun 4–6, 2026). Virtual scholars who travel in walk the same stage as in-person scholars at graduation.
VCA hosts Bible Quizzing competitions four times a year (October, December, March, May). Open to virtual and in-person scholars alike. A real depth-in-Scripture pursuit for families who want to go further.
The 330-seat Performing Arts Center hosts school plays, music recitals, and chapel gatherings throughout the year. Virtual scholars who travel in can audition or attend. Programming varies by year.
Three optional directions families ask about most often:
College Credit Pathway. High-school scholars on our classical pathway can pursue college-credit coursework that may yield transferable credits or count toward an associate’s degree. Eligibility, course list, and any fees are confirmed at enrollment.
Competitions. National Latin Exam, AMC math, spelling bees, science fairs, forensics — families can pursue any of these. Your Academic Coach helps with registration and prep where teacher support is available.
Independent Study. For older scholars with a sustained interest, an independent study under faculty guidance is reviewed case by case by the Coach and Principal.
