Three documents to download, read, and acknowledge before your Scholar's first day — the VCA Virtual Handbook, the VCA Family Handbook, and the Attendance Policy. All enrolling families are required to sign the acknowledgment form.
A school should publish what it expects, what it provides, and how it handles the day-to-day. We do.
The Family Handbook is the official document covering attendance policies, academic expectations, discipline, technology use, parent partnership, and the school's commitment to families. Enrolled families receive a complete copy at orientation. The summary below highlights the most-asked-about sections.
The handbook covers four major areas. The bullet points below are highlights, not a substitute for the full document.
Grading, late work, makeup work, retake policies, transcript standards, graduation requirements, and the appeal process for academic decisions.
Attendance expectations for live classes, devotions, and chapel. Code of conduct, dress for chapel, and the disciplinary review process.
How parents communicate with teachers, coaches, and the Principal. Email response times. Confidentiality and FERPA. Coach call cadence.
Acceptable use of school technology and Zoom etiquette. Student privacy, photo and video consent, and the school's commitment to protect minors online.

Online-program operations, schedules, expectations, and the rhythm of the virtual school day. The document for VCA Virtual Scholars and families.
Download PDFThe school-wide handbook covering mission, statement of faith, governance, board policies, and the standards that apply across both campus and Virtual programs.
Download PDFAttendance expectations, excused-absence procedures, late-work policies, and how attendance is tracked for Choice-program reporting requirements.
Download PDFOne form per family covers all enrolled Scholars. Includes a digital signature pad and three "I have read and understand" checkboxes. Takes about two minutes.
The Family Handbook is reviewed and updated annually by the Principal in coordination with the Board. The Statement of Faith and the school's mission do not change. The operational details — technology, scheduling, specific procedures — are reviewed each summer and revised when warranted.
When material changes are made mid-year, enrolled families are notified directly. Most updates happen between school years and are communicated at orientation.
For governance, board policies, and the Statement of Faith itself, see the dedicated pages elsewhere on this site. The handbook is the daily-life document.

Once you've read all three handbooks, every enrolling family submits the acknowledgment form — one form per family. It takes about two minutes. Questions? Call admissions for a 15-minute walkthrough first.
