A virtual school can have a real community, but only if the school is intentional about creating in-person moments. We are intentional about it.

VCA Virtual hosts quarterly in-person events at our Milwaukee campus, regional meetups across Wisconsin, virtual celebrations of student work, and partnerships with classical co-ops and Christian sports leagues. Most events are open to all enrolled families and many are open to families considering VCA Virtual as well.

Four Categories

What kinds of events.

Each category serves a different purpose. Together they make a virtual school feel like a real one.

Quarterly In-Person

Major in-person events at the VCA Milwaukee campus — orientation, fall festival, Christmas concert, spring drama, year-end picnic. Open to virtual families. Many drive in for these.

Regional Meetups

Family meetups in the largest student concentrations — Madison, Green Bay, Fox Valley, Racine. Park gatherings, museum trips, classical concerts. Coordinated by the Faith Coach.

Virtual Celebrations

Virtual drama nights, poetry recitations, science fair showcases, and student-led talent shows. Performed live online for the whole school.

Co-op Partnerships

Athletic events through MCAA and homeschool sports leagues. Drama and music partnerships with regional Christian schools. Community service projects with VCA brick-and-mortar.

Aug

Family Orientation

Family orientation in mid-August before classes begin. Hybrid (Milwaukee + virtual) so every family can attend. Meet the team. Walk through the year.

Oct

Fall Festival

Fall family event at the Milwaukee campus. Outdoor games, food, a brief chapel, and the chance for virtual families to meet brick-and-mortar families.

Dec

Christmas Concert

Music students perform; families gather (live + virtual). Lessons and carols format. The end-of-semester celebration.

May

Senior Recognition

Graduation, senior thesis presentations, year-end picnic. Hybrid format. The senior class is honored before the whole school community.

A Wednesday Habit

Chapel is the constant.

Every Wednesday at 7:35 am, the entire school gathers virtually for chapel. Worship, Scripture, a brief message, and prayer. Parents are welcome to attend with their students. Families considering VCA Virtual are welcome as guests.

It is the most important recurring event at the school. Not because it is dramatic, but because it is constant. Every week, the school turns toward Christ together.
