Milwaukee Parental Choice Program (MPCP)

The Milwaukee Parental Choice Program (MPCP) enables low- and middle-income families living in the City of Milwaukee to attend private schools—such as VCA Virtual—tuition-free. It is the oldest school choice program in the United States and serves tens of thousands of students annually.

Eligibility

  • Student must live in the City of Milwaukee
  • Family income must be at or below 300% of the federal poverty level
  • Must apply during an open enrollment window

Voucher Amounts

  • Grades K–8: $10,237
  • Grades 9–12: $12,731

How to Apply

Families can apply during the open windows at the DPI School Choice Application Portal. A student application and income documentation are required. Applications must be submitted each year unless the student qualifies for continuing eligibility.
